Midwest Thunder Racing Series Track: Lansing, MI- Capitol Quarter Midgets June 10-11 X ichigan was once again good to our driver!  Heavy Honda: He had the unfortunate luck of drawing Heat 3 in P3. However, he drove his heart out and got the 🏁! Landing him in the A main in P3. He was able to earn the last spot on the podium🥉.  Heavy World: Heavy world was once again on point and started in P7 in heat 1. His finish landed him in P4 in the A main.  His overall finish was a strong 5th. This is a class filled with kids that have ran this class for several years and we are beyond proud of how he is performing in this competitive class of very talented drivers! This brings us to Sunday in the CB51 Design Unrestricted Animal car. Once again, the R word doesn't like "Animal" day and we got a rain out after his heats. Midwest Thunder Racing Series Track: Waterford, MI - Michigan Motorsports  May 27 - 28/2023 YAY! Sunshine, family, friends and checkered flags finally! Heavy Honda Jonathon started in P4 in H4. We struggled with set up and couldn't get the speed we needed and ended in P4. That placed him P6 in the B main. He fought his way up to finish P3, placing him in P9 in the A main. A main was a stacked field and he managed to move up three spots to finish P6. Any race that goes green to checkered makes this team happy! That proves some skills were out there and it was some clean racing! We'll keep diggin' Heavy World.....well just a few laps in to the race, Jonathon entered into turn 3 and lost a tire. When we got to him, it was far more than a tire, his rear axle snapped! So that placed him P10 in the A main.   Mid Ohio Race #2/8 Track: Miami Valley April 23, 2023 Another cold, cloudy and dreary day for Mid Ohio Race #2 Heavy Honda Jonathon started in P1 in the heat and led the entire heat with Trevor Jones being on his bumper! The feature put him on the pole and after a double file restart bringing out a caution, a single file restart started the race. Jonathon made a rookie mistake and went below the dot and got penalized. Putting him on the tail of the 3 car field, Once he got settled back in he took the lead and took the checkers!  Heavy World was another three car field. In the heat one of the cars didn't make it out leaving Jonathon and Phillip Clement Jr. Jonathon lead the lace until two laps to go and spun out on his own. With 2 laps to go he finished with a second place. Starting P2 in the feature, Jonathon took the lead and after a horrible incident between the other two cars that left a two car field. 2023 Season Opener  Mid Ohio Race #1/8 Track: Buckeye  April 16, 2023 Headed to Buckeye for the first Mid Ohio Series on a questionable weather day! But the sun was shining early, only to turn to cloudy, rainy and dreary! We were able to get the heats completed before Mother Nature took the checkers! Heavy Honda Jonathon started in P4 and after leading several laps Blane Withers took the lead. Those two put on a good race in the front of the field for a few laps before Jonathon settled in P2.  Jonathon was the only Heavy World Formula driver and didn't run a heat. But was looking forward to getting some seat time in a feature by himself but again the "R" word won! We'll be racing Sunday, April 23 at Miami Valley for Mid Ohio .25 Racing Series Race #2/8.  Race #6 - The last one, the final, the end The indoor season has come to a close and we are not sad! :-) We are immensely proud of where we ended the indoor season. We have raced the series since winter of 2018 with the exception of 2020 (Covid). We have never performed well in this series. The track is hard and forever changing each weekend. In fact, we had never achieved a podium finish in the infamous “hog barn”. This year was different, we finally had success!  In Heavy Honda, a new class for Jonathon, he earned three (3) second place, one (1) third place and two (2) fourth place finishes. That landed him second in Heavy Honda for the Buckeye Indoor Winternationals series! Heavy World Formula: This also was a new class for team JCD.
